About
Palmer creates observational stories of nature through weaving. Her practice
includes woven works, depicting the natural world and emotions connected to earth cycles. Life and death are a common theme throughout and appear through color and pattern.
The pieces tell a story using natural materials like cotton and wool as well as plain weave or complex patterning to symbolize the simplistic yet complex weave structures of the world. The earth is a place where everything is calm and neutral while constantly changing and shifting through chaos.
"When I see the world
as weaving," says Palmer, "it helps me accept what I've been given."
